The best accompaniments to the Oscar gowns are the fabulous jewelry the stars get to adorn themselves with. This year's accessories were slightly on the minimal side, with the choices complimenting, not detracting from the dresses.

Happy {early} birthday to me!

Looks like I'm very punctual for my birthday this year (a month early), as I just bought myself a bday present. I'd been keeping my eye out for an oversized menswearish gold watch and found my the perfect one: MICHAEL by Michael Kors Round Goldtone Watch. I love the look of a large, chunky watch on a small, feminine wrist. Whether in lieu of a bracelet or accompanying some bangles and beads, I'm going to get a lot of use out of my stylish new timepiece.

Vera Wang's show consisted of simple shapes and a lot of shift dresses and tunics in a muted color palate. What really made the outfits and caught my eye were the fabulous chunky necklaces and belts she showcased.

Pretty Pretty Pieces

How gorgeous and fabulous are these vibrant turquoise Erickson Beamon Turquoise Glenda Earrings? I found this pair at Chick Downtown, but then became curious about Erickson Beamon, as I've never heard of them (perhaps I should know who they are though, as they've been in the jewelry business for over 20 years). Unfortunately you can't currently view the collection on their website, but I found more of their fun and interesting jewelry at Chick Downtown and at Net-A-Porter. If only I had an extra $500+ in my wallet to spend on baubles and bangles....

Recent Purchase

I've been a little slow with my postings as of late, I know.....I will try to do better.

For now, I just wanted to share the bracelet I got over the weekend at Banana Republic. I love it. I chose the purple and in person it's much more vibrant. The bracelets are regularly $39, but I think I got mine for like $22. More expensive than my usual Forever 21 bangles, but it's higher quality and definitely not a bad price at all.

Green Piece

Lately I have really been into green. Although I don't own an abundance of green clothing, I do love accessorizing with the shade. The easiest thing to do is wear all, or mostly black and add a touch of green for a pop of color.

Or do as Eva, and top of your outfit in a contrasting color with some stunning green heels - totally eye-catching.

It's simple to accessorize with green, whether you choose to do so with some jewelry, a scarf, shoes or a handbag. Just don't overdo it and have too much matchy-matchy going on. One standout piece is sufficient.

Baubles and Bangles and Rings, Oh My!

J. Crew has a bunch of new jewelry on their site right now and I love it all! Especially the bracelets and rings. Though they're just a tad more expensive than my usual jewelry purchases from Forever 21, they're much more gorgeous and special.
