goodbye, au revoir, αντίο

Today is the day, it's finally here!  I am off to Paris and Greece with JOAT for what I can only imagine will be an incredible vacation.  I've never been to either place and am so excited!  I'm fairly certain I packed entirely too much.  And shockingly, I am carrying on (as many of you know, this is always difficult for me to accomplish).  Here's hoping for safe and effortless travel, delicious food and drinks, warm weather, beautiful sites and fun adventures!  *a cute boy two thrown into the mix wouldn't hurt either*

Avery Bleu's Songs of the Week

Mykonos by Fleet Foxes.  Why?  Because I will be there in less than a week! Also, I like Fleet Foxes.

Le belle et le bad boy by French hip hop artist MC Solaar is my other song pick this week. I first heard this song on the series finale of Sex and the City when Carrie was in Paris with Aleksandr Petrovsky.  I've always wanted to go to Paris and am spending two days there prior to heading to Mykonos.
(please note that I wish I could change the way Carrie's name is spelled in the title of this video)

And The Winner Is....

Claire Danes.  She's my pick for best dressed at the 2010 Emmy Awards.  Her glittery Giorgio Armani Privé stress was absolutely stunning; the nude/blush color looked fantastic with her golden hair and makeup.

Kerri Russell's pretty pink vintage Jean Louis Scherrer Haute Couture halter dress was my favorite color of the night.

The Lorraine Schwartz ruby and diamond necklace worn by Heidi Klum was my accessory choice.  Those Christian Louboutin's aren't too bad either.

Cat Deeley's On The Hot Tamale Train

I'm so glad So You Think You Can Dance is back; it's one of my favorite shows of the summer.  I love the contestants, the choreographers and the stories...but dancing aside, I adore Cat Deeley.  Each week, I look forward to seeing what she's wearing.  If Mary Murphy put you on the HTT for fashion, Cat would certainly be the conductor!  Cat styles herself and always has a different look.  Sometimes she's super glam, other nights more boho, and then the next she will be sleek and classic followed by some trendy funk. The best part is that she always looks like she's having the best time.  I think I'd like to be friends with her.

To see more of Cat's on-air looks from seasons 5 and 6 of SYTYCD, go here and here.

InStyle recently featured a spread on Ms. Deeley and we got a look at her to-die-for designer and vintage-heavy wardrobe.

When not hosting, Cat still looks just as fabulous.  I don't think it's possible for her to look bad.

Side note: Once again, I have another serious case of hair envy.  While I'm at it, I might as well trade bodies with her too.  What's with everyone's ridiculously long legs.  Not fair!

Indeed!

Waldo's Gotta Win!

Pretty please vote for this little mister (here).  It's kind of a terrible website and it usually takes me about 3 tries to vote successfully, but he needs all the votes he can get to make it into the next round of the top 10 cutest pooches and then the $5K prize! Voting for the first round ends 05.27 at 5PM.  I mean, he has to make it, just look at him! To further build his cuteness case,  go over to his mamma's page and watch a video of his stellar tricks.

Copy Cat

While looking at Mario Testino's fabulous photos, I came across a shoot he did of model Daria Werbowy for the May 2010 issue of Vogue.  Coincidentally, it's called Americans in Paris and ever since Jamie and I have booked our trip, I have been sort of Paris-obsessed.  The bottom two looks were my favorite, and rather easy to recreate without the high price tags.

PS. In addition to the clothes featured, I have serious hair envy here.  I really wish I could have bangs!
