Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 6}

As a new school year approaches, I'm reminded how much I absolutely loved back-to-school shopping.  I'd of course wear my favorite ensemble on the first day and would carefully plan out my outfits in advance for the days ahead. What a dream it would have been if J.Crew's Crew Cuts were around back then. They clothes are stuff I'd wear now myself, but in pint-sized versions.  A tad pricey yes, but oh so ridiculously cute.

Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 4}

J.Crew has some marvelous bright, saturated colors this fall.  I'm especially loving the vibrant pants.

Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 3}

Since they'll never go out of style, stripes are a simple, must-have wardrobe staple. They're effortlessly chic, sophisticated and easy to pull off (yes, even the horizontal ones). Luckily J.Crew always has numerous stripey options.

I Realize It's Barely Summer, But.....

J.Crew's Fall 2011 lookbook is online. Charming per usual. I'm especially loving the jewelry.

Blazers of Glory

Blazers are a marvelous wardrobe essential. Zara is a goldmine for blazers right now in an array of colors and cuts at completely reasonable prices.

June Gloom

Every year in LA we have the dreaded June Gloom.  While it hasn't been too bad this time, we've still been exposed to the grey.  So I figured, why not do do a post embracing this universally flattering color.  Grey + white stripes are a favorite combo of mine and a constant in the collections year after year. To incorporate a little sunshine, my go-to accent color is yellow.

Rainbow Brights

Spring and summer are fast approaching, which make me want to ditch any drab-colored dubs and break out the brights.  Multi-colored pieces can be super fun and eye-catching, without being over-the-top à la Punky Brewster.

Copy Cat

On a recent trip to France, Jessica Alba wore the perfect easy, breezy ensemble for traipsing around as we mosey on into warmer temps. Bare legs, covered arms and a hat to shield the sun if it decides to show it's face (or to hide a less than perfect coif).  I re-created her outfit (minus shoes and shades for under $80).
