Lacey, Lavender & Lovely

Though she wasn't nominated for an Academy Award I'm nominating Mila Kunis as best dressed at the 2011 Oscars. As soon as I saw her on the red carpet, she danced her way to the top of my list.  Her floaty Elie Saab Haute Couture dress was gorgeous and looked great with her skin tone and dark locks.  I loved her makeup, hair and Neil Lane diamonds - perfection!

Lilac for Autum

Although we usually see dark, rich colors in the stores this time of year, I've been noticing some pretty pastels around, namely lavender. It's a nice, unexpected color for fall. Especially living in LA, where temps have been in the 70s and 80s, lighter hues are perfectly suitable.

Copy Cat

A couple of months ago I posted about a lovely purple Lanvin dress Natalie Portman wore in Cannes....

Well unfortunately for me, Lanvin = pricey. And while $374 is more than I would (read: can) spend on a dress, I am certain this Milly Strapless Ruffle Dress is a lot less expensive than the Lanvin. Although it isn't the same color as Natalie's, the style is similar, especially when paired with a black belt. I like the green though.

**Shelby, I am going to try to do more "copy cats" today, so you don't boycott my blog.

Outfit Crush

I love, love, love this ensemble of Becki Newton's. Her fabulous blue pumps are what instantly attracted me; you all know how I love a colored shoe (I really want a blue pair). Becki's plum-colored Abaete dress is gorgeous and a perfect fit. Also, I am a huge fan of dresses with pockets. The earrings are a great addition - they might be kind of hard to see, but they're the same blue as her shoes and kelly green. This outfit is a perfect example of mixing hues to add a pop to what you're wearing.

Outfit Crush

I know Shelby will probably disown me for loving this Lanvin dress (the sole reason being its color. Purple, the color of our arch rivals), but I think it is adorable, and of course, so is Natalie. Normally straight across dresses aren't the most flattering on me, but the fun ruffles really add to the top of the dress. Although there are ruffles all over, I don't think they're too much. The belt cinches it in and makes it more form-fitting. I would probably either wear a colored shoe and keep the black bag and belt or carry a colored bag and keep the black shoes and belt. However, I would definitely wear a higher heel - this shortie needs all the help she can get!

Fawning over fuchsia, a magnet for magenta

Last summer while hunting for dresses to wear to weddings, I became obsessed with this 3.1 Philip Lim dress I saw on Junebug Weddings (above). Much to my dismay, it was nowhere to be found and so I've been searching for a lovely, bright fuchsia/magenta dress ever since. Shirts and blouses too. Below are some of my favorites from around the web, either in the stores or on celebs. I especially love this color paired with blues such as turquoise (see Cameron Diaz at bottom) and navy.
