Give The Cold Shoulder

During my recent dress search, I've pretty much encountered every style and color imaginable (all whilst looking for a strapless black bridesmaid option). So many striking one-shoulder numbers have been catching my eye. They're fun, charming and sexy without being too revealing or fussy. I'm thinking I may have to pick one for the rehearsal dinner.

What's Old is New Again

When I received my Daily Candy email in my inbox the other day, I was pleasantly pleased with the contents; these adorable shoe clips by Erica Weiner. At $25 a pair, what a wonderful and inexpensive way to jazz up shoes you already own. They could also be great if you just can't seem to find that perfect wedding or bridesmaid shoe - customize your own!

A Piece of Orange

Originally I had wanted a jewel-toned dress for Shelby's wedding in September. The day I searched the net, determined to find one, I happened upon this lovely orange Alice + Olivia number, not a blue or green hued dress as I'd palnned. Since Shelby is encouraging us to wear bright colors to her nuptials, I thought it might be perfect. Also perfect was the fact that it was on sale, so I ordered it right away. Paired with light gold heels, some turquoise jewelry and tanned skin, it just might work for the event!

Saks Fifth Avenue

A day or two after I purchased the dress I saw some photos of Brittany Snow wearing it and thought she looked adorable.

The dress is now in my possession and I really like it, but its a titch too big. The length is fine (surprisingly), but I think there's just a bit too much fabric. Luckily there is the sash, which nips it in, but I am having troubles trying to get it to look just right on me. A couple of days ago I saw Khloe Kardashian wearing it sans sash and don't think it looks as good without. Maybe I can have it tailored.....but it always ends up being so pricey and it doesn't seem to be the easiest (i.e. least expensive) dress to have taken in - layers of material, type of fabric, side pockets, bubble hem....*sigh* Perhaps I'm just being too picky - I suppose I'll need some in-person opinions before I make my final decision.

Be Jeweled

I think I want to wear a jewel-toned dress for Shelby's September wedding. Either a pretty emerald, jade, turquoise or sapphire. Of course, per usual, most of the dresses I adore are rather pricey. That, or the styles I like don't come in the colors I want. Oh what's a picky dress lover to do....? The below dresses are along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Make Your Mark

I know I am a total nerd, but I seriously love Sharpies. I use them all the time and have an obscene amount. I get so excited when I see that they've come out with new colors. Remember when they used to be just black, blue, red and green? Well, those days are long gone. They now come in an array of colors and sizes. Something cool I saw on their website is that you can personalize the pens (note: I don't frequent their site, it was my first visit - I'm not that dorky). I actually think it would be a cute wedding favor. I mean, they are useful after all.... I know I'd rather have that than a keychain or a book of matches. Okay maybe I am that dorky! :)

Get Your Hair Did

Ahh, wedding season has crept up on us once again. This is the first summer I haven't been a bridesmaid in a couple of years, so for once I am not feverishly hunting for potential hairdos for myself. Styles which inevitably and unfortunately don't ever resemble the numerous photographic examples I so graciously (in my opinion) supply the hairstylists with. I personally think the "hair decision" is one of the biggest choices a 'maid makes. I have a few friends who are bridesmaids in the next few months and have been looking for 'dos. Below are some of my picks for fab wedding hair. There are also some more examples on a previous posting you can view here. I actually think most of the looks would work for not only bridesmaids, but for brides and attendees too. Here's to hoping it turns out well! :)
