I've Got the Anthropologie Blues

I made the mistake of going to Anthropologie today. It's something I shouldn't do, because everything in that store is so dang cute, and sadly I cannot purchase all the items I fall in love with. So essentially, it's torture. However, what did I do when I came home...? Got online and went to their website! Even more lovelies there I didn't see in the store. When will I learn?!

Outfit Crush

I am loving this outfit from J. Crew. The bold yellow skirt looks great paired with the light blue shirt - perfect for spring. I didn't notice at first, but the shirt is denim. Normally wouldn't choose it or give it a second look (denim shirts = 90s to me), but I really like the combo. I like mixing dressy and casual. With the right accessories this outfit can be as fancy and as laid back as you'd like.

PS. The skirt is currently on sale for $49.50; I just may have to purchase it!

Outfit Crush

I love, love, love this ensemble of Becki Newton's. Her fabulous blue pumps are what instantly attracted me; you all know how I love a colored shoe (I really want a blue pair). Becki's plum-colored Abaete dress is gorgeous and a perfect fit. Also, I am a huge fan of dresses with pockets. The earrings are a great addition - they might be kind of hard to see, but they're the same blue as her shoes and kelly green. This outfit is a perfect example of mixing hues to add a pop to what you're wearing.

Be Jeweled

I think I want to wear a jewel-toned dress for Shelby's September wedding. Either a pretty emerald, jade, turquoise or sapphire. Of course, per usual, most of the dresses I adore are rather pricey. That, or the styles I like don't come in the colors I want. Oh what's a picky dress lover to do....? The below dresses are along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Loving Lanvin

Last month I did a posting on the gorgeous purple Lanvin dress Natalie Portman wore in Cannes....Well, she followed that dress up with two equally as lovely Lanvin frocks. I especially love the red one. Granted you have to be pretty itty bitty like Natalie to have such voluminous ruffles covering your body, but there's no denying that the dresses are fabulous.

Some Ombré of My Own

A little over a month ago I did a posting on ombré. I've had my eye on some pieces for a while, but never came across anything I loved. Until last night. I found this lovely Chiffon Bubble Dress dress at Express. I am always drawn to bright colors, especially blues, so this caught my eye right away. It fits really well, is super comfy, can be dressed up or down and the best part - it was on sale! Yay for me! Oh and PS. Pretty much everything else at Express was super unappealing to me. Tacky and 90s-ish.

Wedding Shoes: Wedding Colors

I'm on a quest to help Lyndsy find fun shoes for her wedding. It's an outdoor affair in May and she wants something open-toed, around 3" and preferably a color or with some pizzaz - no boring 'ol white "bride" shoes for her (me neither if/when I ever tie the knot). What a nice little surprise to find something unexpected peeking out under a wedding dress (in addition to lingerie :) ). This is the first of a few installments on the subject. The shoes below are shoes in the wedding colors; yellow, pink and a hint of navy.
