Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear Collections

Once again, it's time for the Fall ready-to-wear collections to be shown in NYC (and also in London). I would love attend the spectacle that is fashion week. I don't care what season or which designers - I just want to go!

I'm currently trying to make my way through the collections from the shows this week and I must say, it's quite a time-consuming task! I'm hoping to post my favorite looks from select designers, but for now, you can take a gander yourselves... here and here

So far I am in love with this Rebecca Taylor dress and it's one of the few things I could actually pull off and see myself owning. This bright plumy/fuchsia color has been a favorite of mine for the past few years now. I also adore the ruffly flowery details and the flowy drape of the dress.

Off the Cuff

I am loving this Erickson Beamon for Target jeweled cuff. At $59.99 its a total steal compared to their regular line which runs $400+. I may just have to make a quick Target run in the midst of my packing for Maui (I leave early Monday morning). This would be the perfect accessory for the rosy pink frilly dress I'm wearing to the wedding and I could most certainly wear it time and time again.

Can't Wait!

As I mentioned earlier, I am leaving for Hawaii in two short weeks! I started packing quite a while ago and think about six days of relaxing in the sun with friends about 20x a day!

Miu Miu for moi!

I am in love with these jeweled Miu Miu flats. They're simply gorge! Unfortunately they're not available any more. I think my next search will be for a similar pair.

Stylish Sandals

As I'm gearing up for my trip to Hawaii in two weeks (yay!), I am hunting for flat sandals. Some that are fashionable, comfortable and not traditional rubber flip flops. I also don't look very good in the full-on ankle strap gladiator sandals, although I always think they're cute before I put them on. I've found a TON of other styles that I adore...embellished, beaded, leather, strappy, suede, metallic, colorful, afforable and also quite pricey. You name it, I've found them and I want them. Below are just a few of the many.

Help!

I am usually pretty good at technological stuff and figuring things out, but I am at a loss - I don't know why my blog won't show it's updates on other peoples' blog roll. It has my most recent posting as one from last May. I know I've been slacking, but I have posted since then. Do I need to do something with the site feed or with Feed Burner? The updates show in Google Reader, but not on my follower's sites. Its driving me nuts! Help a sister out, please!

Outfit Crush

I am loving this outfit from J. Crew. The bold yellow skirt looks great paired with the light blue shirt - perfect for spring. I didn't notice at first, but the shirt is denim. Normally wouldn't choose it or give it a second look (denim shirts = 90s to me), but I really like the combo. I like mixing dressy and casual. With the right accessories this outfit can be as fancy and as laid back as you'd like.

PS. The skirt is currently on sale for $49.50; I just may have to purchase it!

Seriously, For Real......

I promise to blog more in 2009. See, there, its in writing. As I've mentioned before, I no longer have a job where I can "home from work," and thus I am left with a lot less time for blogging, which sucks. Since I have been pretty good about going to the gym, eating healthy, blah, blah, blah (the usual resolutions), I must too add 'more blogging' to the list. Oh yeah and finally organizing my closet, since I've now lived in my apartment for two months. Friends, feel free to pester me :)

Spring 2009 Ready to Wear

I am finally getting back to posting my favorites collections and pieces from the Spring 2009 Ready to Wear shows. See below.....

Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear: Gucci

Not surprisingly, I really enjoyed the Gucci collection. I particularly loved the vibrant colors and bold graphic prints. The lineup made me want to go on a tropical vacation wearing the floaty dresses and conversely be a funky business gal dressed in the hip suits. The fedoras, belts and scarves were cool additions that could be easily mimicked.

Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear: Badgley Mischka

The pieces in Badgley Mischka's spring 2009 collection are beautiful and polished with lovely ruffles and some hints of sparkle and beading. The collection looks and feels like spring to me with pretty whites, creams, violets and aquas.

Spring 2009 Ready-To-Wear: Rebecca Taylor

Rebecca Taylor's breezy, bohemian collection would certainly be welcome in my closet. The clothes look cozy and romantic, and many have cool, sparkly metallic accents for some added hippie glamour. You could pair the dresses and skirts with heels, sandals or flip flops and always look chic.

Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear: Michael Kors

American, classic, sophisticated and a little bit retro is how I would describe Michael Kors' primary colored collection. Graphic prints, gingham and bold solids were heavily present. It's definitely not too risky or wild, but fun and appealing enough to surely get noticed.
