Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 4}

J.Crew has some marvelous bright, saturated colors this fall.  I'm especially loving the vibrant pants.

Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 3}

Since they'll never go out of style, stripes are a simple, must-have wardrobe staple. They're effortlessly chic, sophisticated and easy to pull off (yes, even the horizontal ones). Luckily J.Crew always has numerous stripey options.

Spotlight: J.Crew {Day 1}

It's not new news that I'm slightly obsessed with all things J.Crew (I know I'm not alone).  If I allowed myself, I could do a post on them every day of the year. I'll spare you all the monotony and cut it down to just one week.

Today's feature is their gorgeous blouses that come in colors and fabrics that transition well from summer to fall and in classic and flattering fits that will last from year to year.

Arm Candy

I'll gladly take every single one of these Lulu Frost for J.Crew bangles. The mixing, matching and layering options are endless.

No Words

Recently I experienced something that truly rocked my world and shook me to my core. 23 days ago my bff married Andy, the man of her dreams. I proudly stood up there with them sharing in their utmost special of days. 14 days ago the world and my bff lost Andy. I've never encountered anything so incomprehensible, unimaginably painful and heartbreaking. Absolutely no words suffice, zero.zip.zilch, to even express the tragedy of this loss. My silly little blog seems so ridiculous and unimportant. Who cares about clothes, shoes, hair, makeup and cute celebs. I would give away all my belongings so my girl could have her husband back even for one more day...one more hour. I am blessed to have known and loved him - he was amazing and so is she. I hope to be inspired by the kindness, imagination, convictions and faith of my pal Andy. Please extend your thoughts and prayers for peace and healing to all. I will pick back up again, but for now, it just doesn't seem right going on about frivolous things while part of my heart is missing.
In memory

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together...there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, but the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you."

Eye Candy Friday

I'm swear I'm not a pedophile or a cougar, but Zac Efron looks good here (and he's totally of age...23).  Don't worry, I won't be posting any pics of the Biebs.
*Although I did recently see Never Say Never, and that kid is quite talented and sweet :)

Emerald Ears

I adore these Kenneth Jay Lane earrings I spotted in the August issue of Marie Claire. So pretty, and they look pricier than $100, don't they?
They immediately reminded me of the Lorraine Schwartz stunners Angelina Jolie donned at the 2009 Oscars. I'd venture to guess they're slightly more than $100.

Dresses for the Seasons

Old Navy has some super cute dresses right now that will also transition perfectly into fall.  I can't believe I'm even thinking about anything other than summer, but it's great to have items you can wear in multiple climates. Throw on a cardi or blazer with the sleeveless ones and add boots to all when the temps cool.

Gwyneth Paltrow is stylish and fresh in the shirt dress ensemble she wore to a Beyonce show in London last month. It's an effortless look that could be worn to lunch, shopping, pretty much wherever and can easily transition into various other looks. You could swap the sandals for boots and throw on a leather jacket for an edgier feel. Or put on some pumps and a blazer to class it up a bit.  Super simple to pull off and equally as easy to replicate.

This is the Life...

Five days at the beach - sans makeup, a blowdryer and anything more than a swimsuit coverup and PJs. Novels, walks scouring for beach glass, sandwiches on white bread, naps on lounge chairs, sunshine, crashing waves and family.

Welcome summer and hello again, Mark Salling.  I love the coloring and cool Cali vibe in this GQ spread from last June.  Makes me want to hit the beach with my cruiser.

{Accidental} Copy Cat

On a whim, I bought some fun, aqua colored shades over the weekend at Target. I think they were like $12. The next day I saw Ashley Tisdale sporting an almost identical pair. Hers are Ray-Bans and obviously not an identical price to mine, but I'm cool with the cheapos, as they'll be out of style soon enough and I won't be too upset if something happens to them.  I saw a pair at Nordstrom today for $10 (they don't have the same color online) and here's a similar pair from Fred Flare.

Btw, her other accessory isn't too shabby.  Hiya Zac Efron!

Jason Sudeikis always cracks me up on SNL and I enjoyed his appearances on 30 Rock. I think he's quite handsome and a catch! Thanks to Jamie, I had the opportunity to attend a screening of Horrible Bosses a few weeks ago.  The movie was super funny, but the best part was the Q&A afterward with Jason S. and Jason Bateman.  They were hilarious! We were also able to go backstage to listen to a couple of interviews and watch them get press photos taken.  Unfortunately we didn't meet both Jasons, but we were introduced to JB.  Swoon, swoon, swoon! You may remember I confessed my love for him a couple of months ago. He was adorable and so nice.  But alas, since he's a married man, I'll stick to pining after JS.

My Must-Haves: Bronzing Edition

Bronzers and self-tanners are my summertime {makeup} best friends. I always feel cuter when I look like I've been kissed by the sun. Who doesn't? I've assembled some of the color achieving products I use in an effort to feel less like a Cullen.
Nars Bronzing Powder Not too shimmery / glittery, blends easily.

Lorac TANtalizer Baked Bronzer Especially good if you already have some color. Adds more of an intense glow.
Lorac Blush/Bronzer Duo Great combo for allover and cheek color.
Jose Maran Bronzing Argan Oil Bronzey shimmer oil. Can be applied to the body, face and hair. Super moisturizing and smells delish.

Tan Towel Self-Tan Towlettes So easy to apply.  No yucky self-tan scent. Great color without streaks.

Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer Dries incredibly fast. Very little odor. Natural looking color in very little time. So much better than the lotion.

I Realize It's Barely Summer, But.....

J.Crew's Fall 2011 lookbook is online. Charming per usual. I'm especially loving the jewelry.

Exquisite & Eclectic

I'm kind of obsessed with Dannijo jewelry.  Their handmade versatile pieces come in a variety of colors, materials, patterns and textures, all with awesome details.

Blazers of Glory

Blazers are a marvelous wardrobe essential. Zara is a goldmine for blazers right now in an array of colors and cuts at completely reasonable prices.

June Gloom

Every year in LA we have the dreaded June Gloom.  While it hasn't been too bad this time, we've still been exposed to the grey.  So I figured, why not do do a post embracing this universally flattering color.  Grey + white stripes are a favorite combo of mine and a constant in the collections year after year. To incorporate a little sunshine, my go-to accent color is yellow.

Eye Candy Friday

True Blood starts on Sunday and I'm oh so excited!  I can't wait to see what craziness happens in Bon Temps and feast my eyes on the hotness that is Eric the Vampire played by Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd. I keep reading that's he's been at one of my gym locations lately.  I may fall off the treadmill if he happened to be near me!

Tress Obsessed

I want this hair and it's golden, sexy, beachy perfection.  Of course I find this just days before my appointment to go even darker than I am already.

Another Friday installment of Chris Pine. I don't think there could ever be too much Chris Pine - he sure is dreamy...

Ryan Gossling is a fantastic actor and pretty cute too.  He was incredible in Blue Valentine (though not so amazing looking in the flick) and what girl didn't fall in love with him in The Notebook. Here are some great shots of him from GQ by the famed Mario Testino.
